Luscomb grade 3, 5-string banjo, S/N 2781, Circa 1896
Luscomb banjos were made by the Thompson & Odell Company of Boston. They featured a cast brass rim with a rabbeted wood tone ring. This is an unusual grade 3 Luscomb with a peghead shaped more like the Thompson & Odell "Artist" banjos and lovely engraved pearl on the peghead and fingerboard.
