"Langstile" No. 4 tenor banjo, Circa 1927
Lange introduced a "beginner's" line of banjos in the late 1920's, the "Langstile" series, of which the No. 4 was the top of the line. The price of a Langstile No. 4 was $65 at the time, only $5 below the price of an Orpheum No. 1 banjo. It is a nice banjo with a raised tone ring, quality hardware, and nice pearl inlays on the peghead and fingerboard. If only beginner's banjos made today were of this quality!
