A. C. Fairbanks "Fairbanks & Cole" 5-string banjo, S/N 0, Circa 1891
This banjo, like my other Fairbanks "F&C", was made shortly after Fairbanks and Cole split up in 1890. This banjo is an unusual model with Stewart-like geometric pearl inlays on the headstock and fingerboard and a German silver rim spun on both the inside and the outside. The only number stamped on the dowel stick is the number "0". Perhaps this is a special order banjo?
