Bacon "Professional Special Grand Concert", S/N 7252, Circa 1920
The Bacon "Professional" line featured special tone rings and elegant internal resonators. This model was the top of the line at the time it was made, and this banjo was undoubtedly made by Rettberg & Lange since Bacon had just set up a manufacturing plant in Groton, CT, at the time and was producing an entirely different line of banjos. The heel carving is especially nice on this banjo.
