Thompson & Odell "Artist" 5-string banjo, S/N 2149, Circa 1894
This nice banjo is similar to my other Thompson & Odell banjos, with a nice mahogany neck, real ebony fingerboard, and fancy inlays, but all of them have different peghead shapes. This is a bit unusual, since many makers used unique peghead shapes as a kind of advertisement in an era when makers names were not usually placed in positions where audiences could see them.
