S.S. Stewart “Special Thoroughbred” 5-string banjo Circa 1898, S/N 70754
This is a no. 3 grade Stewart banjo, with fancy peghead and fingerboard inlay and beautiful inlaid wood marquetry inside the rim. This banjo has an "Elite" tailpiece, which may be original as they were an option to the more common Stewart "Common Sense" tailpiece at the time.
