S.S. Stewart "Special Thoroughbred" No. 3, 5-string banjo, S/N 16098, Circa 1895
This is a beautiful Stewart from the period when this Philadelphia company produced and marketed high quality banjos to players around the world. Although Stewart was not a particularly innovative maker, his banjos were made to meticulous quality standards and many, such as this example, have survived in remarkably good condition.
