Unmarked fretless 5-string banjo, Circa 1865
This amazing banjo is unmarked, but whoever made it should have put his/her name on it. The neck is a simple enough fretless neck with inlaid flush fret markers, but the rim is an amazing, all metal (pewter?) rim embossed with high-relief classical images. The tension hoop is also highly embossed, and the whole banjo is like nothing I have ever seen before.
