S.S. Stewart "Orchestra" No. 3 ,5-string banjo, S/N 13026, Circa 1893
This Stewart "Orchestra" banjo has a 12" (they were available in either 12" or 13" diameters) spun over nickel silver rim with fancy wooden marquetry inside. The 28" scale cherry neck has a beautiful carved heel and ultra fancy pearl inlay throughout the peghead and fingerboard. This example came out just before Stewart started including his patented neck adjuster on his high-grade banjos.
