Lyon & Healy Professional 5-string piccolo banjo model 913, Circa 1892
In 1892, Lyon & Healy introduced their first banjos, and the Professional line was just below the top-of-the-line George Washburn models. Interestingly, the L&H Professional and Washburn banjos from this period were actually better made than the later L&H and Washburn banjos, with thicker rims and fingerboards, and they actually make better playing banjos (at least in my opinion) than do most other banjos from the same period. This piccolo banjo plays like a dream.
