George C. Dobson "Victor-Professional" 5-string banjo, Circa 1880's
This banjo was in the middle of George Dobson's "Victor" line of banjos, sold for $36, and is a fine instrument. It features a real ebony fingerboard and backstrap, nice pearl inlay work, and a well made rim with an engraved tension hoop. The original Dobson tailpiece survives on this example in excellent condition.
