Bacon FF Professional No. 3 (chubby dragon) 5-string banjo, S/N 99, Circa 1906
The earliest Bacon Professional banjos were made by Vega for Bacon, and this was the top of the line at that time. These banjos are usually referred to as “Chubby Dragon” banjos because of the beautiful engraved dragon inlaid on the peghead. The banjo also features other ornate engraved inlays, a nicely carved heel, cobra hooks, pearl tuner buttons, and the Bacon Professional tone ring and internal resonator system.
