W. N. Burkard 5-string pony banjo Circa 1890's
W. N. Burkard was a maker in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, in the last part of the 19th century. Not much is known about him and his banjos are relatively rare, but this is a well made pony banjo with an 8" rim and a 19" scale length. Note the nice, simple inlays on the peghead and fingerboard, and the lightly carved heel.
