Unmarked fretless banjo Circa 1880's
This nice banjo, which at first glance looks British in origin, sports molded ivoroid tuning pegs like those found on Washburn banjos and Stewart/Regent style rim hardware. It also has simple pearl inlays on the fingerboard, pearl dots on the side of the neck to indicate the fret positions to the player, and a nice carved heel. The banjo had a maker's name plate which has been lost, but the impression it left reads something like:
C Bruno & ___________
Warehouse _____
The "C Bruno" is very hard to read and may actually read something else. If anyone has an idea who may have made this banjo I would appreciate it if they would contact me.
