"Orpheum #2", 5-string banjo, S/N 3876, Circa 1915
This early mid-range banjo in the Orpheum line is still pretty fancy compared to other banjos available at the time it was made. Fancy pearl inlays on the peghead and fingerboard, multicolor laminations including a nice backstrap, a nicely carved heel, and tasteful marquetry inlay on the rim make for an attractive banjo that is also one of the finest sounding and playing banjos from this period.
